Annick van Hardeveld was possibly the last messenger to get shot during World War II. To remember her and all people that lost their lives during WWII, the bicycle messengers of the Netherlands ride out at Memorial Day, also the day of her death, and deliver a white rose at her monument in Amsterdam.
